Johannesburg – Trans African Concessions (Trac) will launch its month-long N4 festive season safety campaign this week, it said on Monday.
“December is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year on the N4 toll route as thousands of motorists travel between Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Mozambique,” Trac said in a statement.
“It is therefore imperative that as concessionaires of this road, Trac facilitates the implementation of road-safety measures and the availability of 24-hour rapid, roadside assistance and response.”
The campaign would officially start on Friday and end on 12 January.

On Friday, emergency services would be on duty from 10:00 to 22:00 at the Alzu Petroport, which would help with the response time during emergencies.
Smaller response units would be stationed at strategic points on the toll route, namely Bronkhorstspruit, Middelburg, Milly’s, and Nelspruit, Trac said.
At the Lebombo border post in Komatipoort, Trac said it would work with the post’s operational co-ordinating committee to help with traffic management.
